How to make Wholemeal Cheese Scones

Our savoury cheese scones are quick and easy to make, Just follow the steps below to have the perfect treat to pair with NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® Flat White pod or NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® Latte Macchiato

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

  2. Place both flours, baking powder, cheddar and half the parmesan into a large bowl and mix to combine.

  3. Add the milk and bring the ingredients together with your hands or a wooden spoon. The dough will be a little sticky.

  4. Tip the mixture onto a lightly floured surface. Fold and knead to form a soft dough.

  5. lightly roll the dough to 2-3 cm thickness Use a 6cm – 8cm cutter, I like to use a 8cm cutter to make 12.

  6. Place them onto the baking tray.

  7. Brush the tops of the scones with the beaten egg and sprinkle with the remaining parmesan.

  8. Bake for 15-17 minutes until the scones are risen and golden.
