Over complicate de-scaling process

At 11am this morning I grabbed my coffee cup and turned to my new(ish) Dolce Gusto Piccolo to make myself a cup of coffee. At 12:10pm I finally sat down to drink the much needed coffee! I inserted the milk carton and pushed to magazine into place and waited for the red indicator light to turn green. I was of course disappointed to find the light turned yellow and not green, Time for the Coffee Makers first De-scale! I reached for the instruction manual and flicked through to the bit the covers de-scaling , the instructions were a pictogram of the machine, a bottle of de-scaler and a web address! I grabbed my smart phone and headed to the address where upon I got instructions for de-scaling a Dolce Gusto Jovie, a totally different animal. After some searching I finally found a link for the Dolce Gusto Piccolo. Scrolling down I found a link for the instruction manual and clicked on it, then clicked again and again.......so no manual (I assume that this version of the manual contains detailed information on how to de-scale the Piccolo, though I have no idea because the link went nowhere. After more searching I finally found a video telling me how to de-scale the thing. So you remove this and twist that, fill up a tank then move this leaver to here and wait, then empty the tank then fill it up again and move the same leaver to there then fill..................... By this time I expect the narrator to break into song "You put your left leg in, your left leg out" or "Well, your toe bone connected to your foot bone, Your foot bone connected to your heel bone, Your heel bone connected to your ankle bone, Your ankle bone connected to your leg bone". The cleaning and de-scaling of the machine is hugely overcomplicated and for anyone who is not practical (or does not have an engineering degree) would be enough to resolve the problem by throwing the thing into the nearest skip and settling for a cup of instant. It can't be too difficult to build in a de-scale program which consists of adding a de-scaling solution into a chamber of some sort then hitting the de-scale button.

I am first time user of this machine, I do love my coffee And hot chocolate, the only thing that confuses me is that capsule is still With liquid inside after use, I have trying different ways to make my drinks but still the same, I think capsules should have a barcode system that tells the machine what it is you want to have made and if milk is going in to barcode tell the machine that 2 capsules is going to be used. Like the shape of the Machine don’t take up much space,

Great for camping!

We have an automatic machine at home and bought this one for camping. We store it in the box and then just put it in the car. Great size and perfect coffee every time. Recently took it to France when we stayed in a cottage on a farm. Also use it at home when I need 2 machines for parties and the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning.

Perfect little buddy

This suits me perfectly. Doesn’t take up too much space, easy to fill and maintain. Most importantly for me, it allows me to judge the level of the drink according to my preference and not rely on the machine A.I to pour the prefect brew. If I want a full cup with an ardenza or barista - I do that, if I want a large cup with an americano - I can do that. Perfect!

Real newbie as coffee machines go but since buying this machine and trying various different pods I now drink nothing else. I can't even drink instant anymore the difference is startling .

good but not auto cup size

This was our 1st machine and it was fine, but having to stand over it to make sure it didn't overflow was a pain, glad we upgraded to the Mini me which is better and smaller.
