Transform your weekday mornings with Preludio, our fantastic new long coffee - designed to make a bigger mug of coffee that you can enjoy for longer. With a rich flavour and delicate aroma, its smooth, round characteristics are enhanced by adding milk.

Preludio is a rich blend of South American Arabica beans and Southeast Asian Robusta beans, which together bring body without increasing bitterness. The beans are softly roasted to release their delicate aromas and ground in a specific way to avoid any harsh notes during long extraction.

The Robusta beans bring body without harshness and are ideal at maintaining coffee flavour through a long extraction as well as delivering the sweet cereal base of Preludio.

The South American Arabica beans are lightly roasted to bring subtle fruity notes and this completes the aromatic richness of Preludio’s aroma & flavour.

Intensity 4, Preludio has a very smooth & soft texture.

not tried yet

Glad I read these reviews, searched Nescafe site with no success to find how to make a large mug with an automatic machine. Would have helped if they included how to use with free samples or am I just THICK!

Not for Coffee Lovers

Do not buy if you actually like the taste of coffee. A big mug of watery, flavourless rubbish. Got for the odd occasions when I fancy I longer drink, but wished I hadn't bothered. 15 pods going to be thrown away if I can't find someone to take them from me

Tasteless

Had 3 free samples sent direct to me. Coloured water, no taste at all and I measured the volume accurately. What a pity, such a good idea to have a longer drink. Did I get a dud capsule, I shall never know.

Not bad at all.

This coffee is okay for a longer drink. I just brew it on full on my little machine and don't bother with the extra 2 stops and it's fine. Americano is still my favourite long brew but this is pleasant and doesn't deserve the stick it is taking in some reviews.

You're gonna need a bigger mug

This new ex-large pod is finally giving me more coffee for my buck. The pod needs one full bars and two extra bars if you have the auto machine. Now I can give guests a great coffee and not worry about it looking like half a coffee is being given. This blend of coffee was stronger than I thought it was going to be, I'm used to milky coffees where you use two/ three bars. Good one for the morning getting ready for work and for the journey to work. Enjoyable, strong, slightly more bitter than the shots in the latte. My friends have all enjoyed.

My New Favourite

I am so pleased I was sent the free pods for the Preludio to try. They have converted me from the cappuccino to these. Admittedly I find them a bit strong on their own but now I just add a little unsweetened Soya milk and they are my perfect coffee for at time of the day. This way I also get 16 coffees for the price rather than 8.

My favourite of the dolce gusto coffee pods!

Having tried a large selection of the nescafe dolce gusto pods including: americano, lungo, grande, grande intenso, grande mild, preludio & preludio intenso, i have to say preludio is my favourite- it's so smooth & with no bitterness what so ever & it's not too strong yet still gives me a little pick me up in the mornings, i would highly recommend it! :-)

Great coffee

This was a free sample and on first sight thought it wasn't for me, it looked quite strong and I am not a lover of strong coffee. I added half a teaspoon of coffee whitener with a dash of milk and enjoyed the smooth taste of the coffee for my midmorning coffee break. An enjoyable drink but I still prefer a nice cup cortado.

wow rich and smooth

I like to taste my coffee but not be left with after taste, this is rich and smooth and leaves you wanting a bigger cup, my mum got a free sample and well, i drank them all adding a splash coconut milk as im dariy free, this coffee is a great mid morning smooth drink or after dinner treat with a sweet biscuit.

Vile and weak

Bought these as I like to have an Americano that i stretch to about 1 1/2 cupfulls in my travel mug on my commute. Thought that this might be better suited to that kind of volume. tastes like vile piss-water. Tried it twice to make sure it wasn't a bad pod, but no, this is truly disgusting. not sure what to do with the other 14 pods now. maybe use them to get rid of unwanted house guests?
