Transform your weekday mornings with Preludio, our fantastic new long coffee designed to make a bigger mug of coffee that you can enjoy for longer. With a rich flavour and delicate aroma, its smooth, round characteristics are enhanced by adding milk.

Preludio is a rich blend of South American Arabica beans and Southeast Asian Robusta beans, which together bring body without increasing bitterness. The beans are softly roasted to release their delicate aromas and ground in a specific way to avoid any harsh notes during long extraction.

The Robusta beans bring body without harshness and are ideal at maintaining coffee flavour through a long extraction as well as delivering the sweet cereal base of Preludio.

The South American Arabica beans are lightly roasted to bring subtle fruity notes and this completes the aromatic richness of Preludio’s aroma & flavour.

Intensity 4, Preludio has a very smooth & soft texture.

Bitter & Weak

I ordered this coffee pod box the moment it became available on subscription and I have to say I was deeply disappointed.. Even for a 4 it is very weak and the 300ml capacity doesn't make it look nearly as appealing as it does on the box.. Almost like dish water.. Even the taste seemed very off.. It was as if someone hadn't emptied the coffee filter from earlier in the morning and re-brewed it during lunch.. I will not be ordering this one again I'll stick with the Lungo, Grande and Americano blends..

Excellent!

I enjoyed this coffee and am surprised at the number of bad reviews. A long coffee, made with milk (or cream), it suited my taste buds perfectly!

Not good

I rarely write reviews about my purchases but was so disappointed with the Preludio that I had to share. Very weak taste even made with less water, has a very unpleasant bitterness. Tried to add milk to make it taste better but didn't work. I would not recommend it. This is the worst I have tried of Dolce Gusto.

not so flavoursome

Nothing can compare with the full flavour of my favourite LUNGO INTENSO

Mild but nutty

This has a nice mild flavour, and a subtle nuttiness about it. Its not a strong coffee, so might not be for you if you only like heavy bitter drinks.

disgusting

no matter how much or little water i put with it, it always tasted woody aswell as having an awful aftertaste which took forever to get rid of! used 5 pods out of the box just to make sure and they all went down the drain! and the rest of the box went in the bin, it was such a disappointment!

lovely taste

I preffer weaker coffee and this one has a lovely smooth taste and smell, for me it's better than any other I tried. I am ordering again.

Fine drink if made correctly

Looked at the reviews of this coffee after I bought a box, so thought I may have a problem (I hate bitter coffee) When I had brewed it I took a sip and yes could understand comments of bitterness, but - Once I had added sugar and frothed milk it was absolutely lovely. Just the right taste and strength and no bitter aftertaste, so for all of you who have complained - try again as I have, adding sugar and milk to taste.

Not very nice.

This was a big disapointment compared to my usual grande intenso or lungo intenso. Having learned from my mistake I wont be buying another box.

Not good

Very weak if you follow the instructions for capacity (300ml) and not a good coffee flavour, kind of burnt taste but the weakness confuses it. It's hard to describe but tastes a bit like nescafe instant, which anyone who has worked in an office will know is the worst coffee in the world. Tastes particularly bad if you add milk, unlike most of the other americano derivatives.
